PIA will be privatized next year: Privatization Commission

ISLAMABAD: Privatization Commission Chairman Muhammad Zubair said that Pakistan International Airline will be privatized next year. Government has to face financial losses due to deficit of PIA that’s why the decision has been taken by government to sell PIA. “It has been proposed to sell its 26 percent shares with the administrative control. We will conduct road shows in the Middle East, China and Europe to sell the PIA” he said. On the other hand government has to face the protest of PIA employees against the alleged privatization. The protestors have shut down boarding offices and airports. Opposition is also protesting against the privatization of PIA and government institutions.
