First provincial assembly session summoned for election of Chief Minister

*PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has become the first province to summon the provincial assembly session for the election of the Chief Minister.*

*Governor KP has summoned the provincial assembly session on Monday, August 13.*

According to a notification issued by the governor’s secretary, the governor has summoned the KP assembly session on Monday 10PM.

On the first day of the session, the new elected members of the provincial assembly will take oath of their office. This will be followed by the elections of the speaker, the deputy speaker and then the chief minister.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) enjoys comfortable majority in the provincial assembly and its chief Imran Khan has nominated former sports minister Mehmood Khan as chief minister.

The party ruled the province from year 2013 to 2018 with Pervez Khattak as CM
