Islamabad police female officers allege sexual harassment at police headquarters

ISLAMABAD – The female officers of Islamabad police have filed a complaint with Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar and others over the inappropriate sexual behaviour of male personnel at Police Lines Headquarters.

The applicants without mentioning their names on the application, which was also sent to Islamabad High Court chief justice, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Inspector General of Islamabad police, alleged that they were harassed by male officials, including DSP, readers and operators.

In the complaint, the lady cops alleged that DSP and his subordinates have prepared special lodging areas in headquarters where these officials asked them to come.

They also claimed to have evidence – photos and videos – against the officials who have been exploited the female officers, adding that the record will also be presented before the chief justice.

The complainants have also urged the chief justice to take suo motu notice of the situation, adding that black sheep in the police should be expelled.

Three Islamabad policemen have been suspended for allegedly harassing the female employees, while further investigation is underway.
