At least 2 Indian Army soldiers killed at LoC

NEW DELHI - Two Indian army soldiers were killed after Pakistan army retaliated to indiscriminate Indian firing and shelling on the forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district in Jammu division.

The incident occurred on Monday evening when Indian Army violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked firing using small arms, automatics and mortars.

Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand, defence spokesman at Jammu, said firing started at 5.15 pm and Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively.

"However, in the exchange of fire, Vinod Singh and Jaki Sharma were grievously injured and later succumbed", he said.
