QUETTA –Counter Terrorism Department and Intelligence agencies save provincial capital from big disaster, reveals the latest investigation report.
The investigations on Sunday revealed that the six terrorists among a woman, who killed in Quetta East bypass, were planning to attack on Muharram seven’s procession.
According to the sources, the investigation also revealed that the terrorists killed among a woman five days ago on the eastern bypass also included a commander of a banned outfit.
The sources said that the terrorists bought the house two months ago instead of taking on rent. “Strategies and preparations were being made to plan terror attack during the Muharramul Haram,” it added.
The sources informed that the terrorists had also built a large basement in the house and the suicide jackets and improvised bombs were being prepared in the basement. “The basement also had a large number of weapons, rockets, hand grenades, Kalashnikovs and other advanced communication equipment,” it added.
The sources said the terrorists had well planned to attack on the procession of the seventh Muharram. It revealed that they planned to attack on the processions of seventh Muharram at various points in the city.
The personnel from Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies conducted a joint operation on a tip-off during which the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire and injured security officials. The exchange of gunfire between the alleged terrorists and the security men were continued several hours.
An alleged suicide bomber blew himself with a huge blast, according to the CTD spokesman. One martyred and four troops are said to have sustained injuries in the operation.
