South Waziristan: Pakistan Army built mini hydropower plant starts operation

PESHAWAR - Electricity has been provided to residents of Badar Gigakhel area on Pakistan-Afghanistan border in South Waziristan.

Deputy Commander Kanigaram area Colonel Ali Jafri inaugurated a hydropower plant, which was built with Pakistan Army's cooperation. In the first phase, electricity has been provided to one hundred homes.

Colonel Ali Jafri said the army is also working on health, education, and other development projects after restoration of peace in the area.

Local tribesmen have hailed Pakistan Army for providing electricity in a far-flung area of the country.
