DFID food fortification programme in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Head of Department for International Development (DFID) in Pakistan Joanna Ried Friday said the organization has launched a food fortification programme to create awareness among the people about the importance natural food in the country.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said the programme is launched in collaboration with the government of Pakistan costing œ42m spread over the next 5 years.

The organization will continue assisting Pakistan to help achieving the objectives of Vision-2025 and the Global Sustainable Development Goals (GSDG), she added.

She said DFID is assisting the government of Pakistan to ensure provision of basic services to people including education and health, economic growth and good governance.

She said education and poverty alleviation are being given special attention so that the children in Pakistan should have bright future.
