Emerging Markets Institute declares Pakistan as best country for infrastructure development
ISLAMABAD, Oct 09 ( APP): Emerging Market declared Pakistan as best country for infrastructure development in South Asia.
Emerging Markets is a research and publishing institute of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.
According to a statement issued here on Sunday, Pakistan was declared as the best attractive country for infrastructure development.
The award was given due to successful investment in energy and transport projects.
Pakistan received the distinction in recognition of the government's best planning in various mega projects including China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Lahore-Karachi railway, LNG Pipeline and energy projects.
Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal was invited to receive the award in Washington but due to his non availability, Pakistan's Ambassador in United States Jalil Abbas Jillani received the award in a ceremony held in Washington last night.
