LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned hearing of a petition for enforcing Urdu as official language till May 25 and sought further arguments.
LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard the petition filed by Dr Muhammad Sharif Nizami.
During the hearing, a deputy attorney general submitted that steps were being taken to enforce Urdu as official language in the light of the apex court judgement for the purpose.
A provincial law officer on behalf of the Punjab government submitted that the government had ordered all departments concerned to adopt Urdu as official language. (APP)
