Imran Khan grilled by ECP in disqualification case

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday restored the petition of Hashim Ali Bhutta regarding disqualification of PTI Chief Imran Khan and summoned response from him.

Heading a five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza heard the petition about the disqualification of Imran Khan.

The Commission has also ordered PTI Chief to submit his reply till 23rd of this month.

Bhutta requested the election commission to disqualify Imran Khan as he lied in front of the ECP; hence, he is not qualified under Article-62 & 63 of the Constitution.

Appearing before the bench, Imran Khan’s counsel Shahid Gondal said the reasons cited for restoration of the petition are inappropriate
