Afghanistan becomes the only country of the World being Ruled by two Presidents who sworn in on same day
ISLAMABAD - Afghanistan becomes the only country of World being Ruled by two Presidents who sworn in on same day.
Both Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah swore-in as Afghanistan ‘Presidents’ on Monday afternoon amid political conflicts and disagreements.
Ghani was sworn by the country’s supreme judge, following which he signed a decree appointing his running mate Mohammad Yousof Ghazanar as his special representative, Khaama Press has reported.
On the other hand, Abdullah Abdullah swore-in as the President of Afghanistan under an ‘inclusive administration’ name.
The country’s future is still unknown, how both administrations are managed from one capital is a bold question.
According to the reports, the U.S peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad had a busy day yesterday meeting both electoral teams to convince them not to go for a dual inauguration, but his efforts failed.
Ghani had proposed Abdullah a 40% power-sharing which was declined by Abdullah who said he wanted the invalidation of the election results.
