CDWP approves 7 mega projects worth Rs 61.9 billions

ISLAMABAD: CDWP has approved seven development projects worth 61.9 billion rupees.

It recommended Executive Committee of National Economic Council to consider approval of four mega projects in transport communication, water resources and tourism sector.

The meeting recommended two mega projects of worth 43.5 billion to ECNEC in transport and communication sectors.

It approved two mega projects of worth 43.5 billion to regarding widening of additional 2-lanes on either side Thokar Niaz Baig to Hudyiara Drain Multan Road of worth 10.3 billion rupees. CDWP has given go ahead to up gradation and widening of Jaglot-Skardu Road costing 33.13 billion rupees.

CDWP also approved remodeling of Warsk Canal System in Peshawar and Nowshera Districts of worth 12.1 billion rupees.

It nodded establishment of Special Communication Organization Technical Training Institute at Gilgit at a cost of 100 million rupees.

CDWP also recommended Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth Project worth 5.7 billion rupees, skill development for 1,100 FATA youth costing 78 million rupees. In higher education sector, CDWP has given go ahead to 276.4 million Pakistan Productivity, Quality, and Innovation Initiative.
