CARDIFF: New Zealand were held to a total of 265 for eight by Bangladesh after winning the toss in their must-win Champions Trophy Group A match at Cardiff on Friday.
Ross Taylor top-scored with 63 and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson made 57.
But once the pair were out in quick succession after a third-wicket stand of 83, the innings slumped.
Off-spinner Mossadek Hossain (three for 13) and paceman Taskin Ahmed (two for 43) justified their respective recalls with impressive returns.
Both teams needed to win this match to maintain their hopes of reaching the semi-finals of a tournament featuring the world´s top eight one-day international nations.
