Pakistani Nighat Dad awarded Atlantic Council Digital Freedom Award

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani digital rights activist Nighat Dad has been awarded with Atlantic Council Digital Freedom Award here at the Global Forum in Wroclaw over her remarkable efforts regarding a safer and reachable internet access for Pakistani women.

As per details, Ex. Premier Shaukat Aziz presented Atlantic Council Digital Freedom Award to Nighat Dad. The Atlantic Council Freedom Awards had been set up in 2009 in Berlin with the commitment of peace and freedom.

The award had also been given to Malala Yousafzai before Nighat Dad while Nighat was conferred this award admiring her devotion towards digital rights for Pakistanis.

More than 450 delegates including activists, politicians and dignitaries participated in the awarding ceremony.

In her statement, Nighat Dad expressed his happiness over this achievement and thanked Allah Almighty as well as she vowed to continue her efforts towards digital rights.
