ISLAMABAD - The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, and Muslim League General Secretary, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai,in Indian occupied Kashmir, have welcomed the statement of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, the leaders in their separate statements in Srinagar said that there was no other path to peace and prosperity in South Asia except for resolving the Kashmir dispute in its historical perspective. The leaders also hailed the statement of Norway’s Prime Minister on Kashmir and her offer to mediate for resolution of the dispute. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement termed Kashmir as a bone of contention between the two nuclear powers of South Asia. He said, “The stubborn attitude of India regarding the globally accepted political dispute over Jammu Kashmir has threatened the peace in the region.” Islami Tanzeem Azadi Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement asked for settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per relevant resolutions of the United Nations. The Jammu and Kashmir National Front at a meeting in Srinagar paid rich tributes Sajjad Ahmed Kenu on his martyrdom anniversary. Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed condolence over the demise of the mother of martyred Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Afzal Guru.
