ISLAMABAD: As the crisis in Balochistan government is getting worse, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will visit Quetta today along with ministers to persuade disgruntled PML-N leaders to support Sanaullah Zehri.
The government has increased efforts to solve a brewing crisis in the province after provincial lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against Zehri.
Leader of opposition in Balochistan Assembly Moulana Abdul Qasay has refused to meet PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi saying that he supports the no-confidence motion against Zehri.
Meanwhile, the disgruntled leaders of the ruling PML-N have also refused to meet the prime minister.
Former advisor to Balochistan chief minister (CM) Prince Ahmed Ali had claimed that number of dissenting MPAs would go over 40.
He said that decision of the dissenting ministers would not change with Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s visit to Balochistan to resolve the political crisis.
The motion, which was submitted by Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Syed Agha Raza, was signed by a total of 14 parliamentarians.
The Balochistan CM had contacted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif and conveyed to him that the issue of no-confidence motion against him needs to be resolved.
Zehri told Nawaz that a no-confidence motion against him can have an impact on the results of the upcoming general elections.
