We will ensure timely and honorable return of IDPs: COAS Raheel Sharif

PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif said that Pak Army has restored state authority in FATA by destroying terrorists hideouts in tribal areas.


As per details, a Special Apex-Committee meeting was held at Peshawar Corps Headquarters here at Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the law and order situation of the province.


Army Chief Gen. Raheel, Governor KPK Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, KPK CM Pervez Khattak, Peshawar Corps Commander, senior provincial and FATA secretariat officials attended the meeting.


Affairs relating to the rehabilitation of IDPs came under discussion in the meeting. The participants of the meeting were briefed regarding operation Zarb-e-Azab and rehabilitation of IDPs.


The participant of the meeting expressed their reservations over the delay in release of funds by federal government for the rehabilitation of IDPs. The participants also expressed their concerns over the performance of FATA secretariat.


While addressing the meeting, Army Chief paid tributes to the martyrs who lost their lives in operation Zarb-e-Azb. He also lauded the sacrifices of KPK and FATA residents in war against terrorism and vowed that we will ensure timely and honorable return of IDPs.
