Saudi Arabia claims to intercept incoming Scud missile fired from Yemen

RIYADH: Saudi Air Defense claimed to intercept a scud missile fired from Yemen.
The missile was fired at Khamis Mushait city which is 60 miles away from Yemeni border and King Khalid Air Base is also located near the city.
King Khalid Air base is a major air base used for Saudi led air operations against Shiite Houthi militants and their allies.
Saudi Arabia has deployed patriot missile batteries designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles since March 2015.
90 civilians and soldiers have been died in rocket fired from Yemen and border clashes since March 2015.
