Nawaz Sharif hints at elections boycott

ISLAMABAD – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed his reservations over next general elections 2018 visibly hinting at rejecting the exercise altogether.
While talking to media outside the accountability court, he said that he would not accept the results of general elections because what happened in Senate elections was going to happen again in the electoral tussle, a harbinger of the fact that the political bigwig can boycott the polls.
The PML-N’s ‘Quaid for life’ said that the logic behind the remarks about the dismal performance of Punjab Government was beyond understanding. h also posed a question to the newsmen that they should evaluate the governments of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“If I inquire which province has performed the best, even a layman will be able to answer that in Punjab’s favour,” he told the media persons.
The former lawmaker, who is currently tangled up in a legal battle, expressed his dissent over his removal as party president and asserted that how could free and fair elections flourish under such system.
CJP’s promises worth nothing if free, fair elections not held on time and we must move in right directions, said the ousted Prime Minister.
“I have serious doubts and would compare general elections with previously held Senate elections”, said the politician who visibly looked perturbed over the legal proceedings being carried out by the accountability court in Islamabad.
