Pakistan - China FTA talks in Beijing

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Commerce Mohammad Pervaiz Malik has directed the negotiating team on Free Trade Agreements to work vigorously to conclude the agreements in best interest of the country.

He was chairing a briefing on Pak-Thailand and Pak-China FTA in Islamabad. The meeting was informed that 8th round of Pak-China FTA two days meeting will begin from Thursday in Beijing.

Pervaiz Malik expressed satisfaction over the progress of FTA negotiations and also directed them to work vigorously to conclude the agreements at the earliest.

The minister said that while negotiating FTA with Thailand, Pakistan is also looking to access a huge untapped market of the whole East Asian Region. Pakistan had already concluded successful FTAs with Malaysia and Indonesia.
