More than 15 MNAs from ruling party of Punjab all set to join PTI

ISLAMABAD - More than 15 disgruntled lawmakers from south Punjab, who quit Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) few weeks ago, are all set to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry, the lawmakers from South Punjab will officially announce their union with the party soon. The members will hold a joint presser with PTI Chief Imran Khan tomorrow, local media reported.

PML-N leader Khusro Bakhtiar along with lawmakers including Members of National Assembly and Members of Parliament of the PML-N will join PTI.

Vowing to make south Punjab a separate province, several PML-N lawmakers quit the party on April 9. The senior leaders included Bakhtiar, Tariq Iqbal, Rana Muhammad Qasim and Basit Bukhari.

The former PML-N leaders announced that they were leaving the party and claimed that their one-point agenda is the creation of a separate province for southern Punjab.

The PTI chief had voiced his support for a separate south Punjab province and said that the senior leaders who have parted ways with PML-N have a right to demand for a new province.
