*ISLAMABAD: Despite completing his jail term three years ago, another Pakistani inmate on Thursday passed away in an Indian hospital.*
According to diplomatic sources, a Pakistani prisoner Muhammad Azam, 62, died in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar.
The Pakistani inmate was shifted from Amritsar jail to the hospital on February 25 but he could not survive and breathed his last on Thursday.
Reasons behind his death are not known yet.
It is pertinent to mention here that Muhammad Azam was arrested on the charges of crossing the Pak-India border illegally.
His jail term had been completed in 2016 but the Indian authorities did not release the Pakistani national.
Earlier, an initial post-mortem report of Pakistani citizen Shakirullah, who was martyred by fellow inmates in India’s Jaipur jail, had come out, showing he was tortured before his death.
