*ISLAMABAD:* The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to launch an inquiry against two ex-army officials over their suspected transaction reports.

The decision was taken during a NAB’s executive board meeting, headed by Bureau chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, on Thursday.

The NAB chairman approved inquiry against former Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Lt Gen (Retd) Obaidullah Khan and Brigadier (Retd) Asad Shehzad over alleged irregularities in their transaction reports.

According to a press release issued by the NAB, all the inquiries are being initiated just on the basis of allegations and the alleged will be given proper chance to respond.

While addressing the meeting, Iqbal said that corruption was the mother of all evils and it had to be eradicated completely.

NAB officials are committed to their “loyalties to the nation” and doing their best for “corruption free Pakistan”, said the NAB chairman.
