Syrian troops advance towards defacto ISIS headquarters in Raqqah

DAMASCUS: Syrian government troops continued to advancing towards Raqqah where the de facto headquarter of ISIS lies.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that government troops have reached within 15 miles of Lake Assad in Euphrates valley contained by the Tabqa Dam.

The group claimed that government forces and opposition forces backed by US are also moving towards the dam which is a key reservoir in Euphrates valley.

Sources claimed that ISIS is now fighting at four different fronts that includes north and south west of Raqqa, in Manbij near the Turkish border with Syria, and in Fallujah and Iraq.

Western officials claimed that the successful push on Raqqa by government troops may interrupt the ongoing peace process.
