Indian Deputy High Commissioner summoned in Foreign Office

Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Chirikot and Satwal Sectors on the Line of Control this morning.

According to ISPR, two persons including a girl were martyred and three others wounded in the firing.

The Indian forces used small and heavy arms, including mortars.

Pakistan Army troops effectively responded to the Indian aggression.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has lodged strong protest with India over its unprovoked firing in Chirikot and Satwal Sectors of Line of Control.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was summoned to the foreign office today.

It was stressed that deliberate targeting of civilians is deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws. 

The Indian side was urged to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement and maintain peace on the LoC.

It was also urged that the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan should be permitted to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
