Kashmiri Freedom Fighters Shaheed Maqbool Bhat , Afzal Guru remembered on martyrdom anniversaries

MIRPUR: Paying tributes to veterans of Kashmir freedom struggle - Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru on their martyrdom anniversaries, Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Wednesday said that people of Kashmir owed a lot to martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom.
Talking to media persons here, a spokesperson of the Jammu Kashmir National Front strongly demanded the return of the mortal remains of both Shaheed Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Afzal Guru who were hanged in the Tihar jail, Delhi in 1984 and 2013 respectively.
“The JKNF said in a statement that hanging of Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru has not deterred Kashmiris for demanding their birth right”, the spokesperson said.
He said “Time has proved that Kashmir has produced hundreds of Maqbools and Gurus despite Indian oppression and suppression”.
The JKFN reiterated that the struggle for freedom shall continue till the dawn of freedom and the sacrifices of martyrs like Shaheed Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Afzal Guru shall be protected at any cost .APP
