Narendra Modi rule has resulted into anti Pakistan sentiments among Indians: Research Study

ISLAMABAD - A recently conducted Pew research on Friday pointed out that more and more Indians were having unfavourable views regarding Pakistan. This has tremendously increased under Narendra Modi rule and his pro hindu nationalism policies.

As per the survey, as of spring 2017, 72% of Indians see Pakistan unfavorably while almost two-thirds (64%) have a very unfavourable view of Pakistan. Only 10% of Indians view Pakistan favourably.

It is pertinent to mention here that this is the highest number recorded since the Pew Research Center began its operations in 2013.

Not many Indians, however, approve of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handling of Pakistan. While Modi has talked about handling Pakistan both diplomatically and militarily, this has not led to an increase in his popularity.

Only 21% of Indians approve of the way he is handling relations with Pakistan. Yet 60% Indians support the way he is tackling the Kashmir issue.

On the other hand, 63% of Indians say the country should deploy more forces in the restive occupied Kashmir area while only 8% think that more force should not be deployed in the region.
