Pakistan should show more transparency in $ 46 billion projects with China: Governor SBP

ISLAMABAD: The Governor State Bank of Pakistan Ashraf Mahmood Wathra said that Pakistan should ensure more transparency in all the projects regarding energy and infrastructure with China. As per details, the agreements have been signed between China and Pakistan worth $ 46 billion regarding the development of infrastructure and energy sector earlier this year. He further said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be helpful to reduce the major issues of Pakistan like electricity shortage. CPEC will also play an important role for the development of Pakistan. “CPEC needs to be more transparent”. “I don’t know out of the $46 billion how much is debt, how much is equity and how much is in kind.” Ashraf Mahmood Wathra stated.
