Akmal, Shehzad excluded from Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 training plan

ISLAMABAD: Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad have not been picked for Pakistan’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 ‘training plan’.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has devised a plan to train players for the mega event.
The two cricketers are currently in a state of crisis as Akmal was recently questioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 2 over his claims of being approached to fix matches.
Shehzad tested positive and charged for use of a banned substance on July 10.
The performance of Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan and Sohaib Maqsood will be monitored.
The cricket board has decided to adopt a “rotation policy” to keep its bowlers fit for the tournament. A combination of junior and senior players will be made by the cricket board.
The selection committee will brief head coach Mickey Arthur about the World Cup 2019 plan ahead of the Asia Cup this year.
Pakistan will start their World Cup 2019 campaign against the West Indies at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on May 31.
