Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) announced the apprehension of five individuals engaged in the hawala hundi business in Karachi. According to an FIA spokesperson's statement, the initial seizure from these five suspects, namely Zaid Khan, Muhammad Irfan, Furqan Saleem, Muhammad Raza, and Osama, amounted to $35,000 USD.

However, the suspects could not provide satisfactory explanations to authorities concerning transactions involving $23,000 USD.

Throughout the investigation, numerous messages related to foreign currency and Hawala transactions were uncovered on the accused individuals' mobile phones.

Following this discovery, the FIA filed a case against the detained individuals under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act and subsequently initiated further legal proceedings.
