Swabi Terrorist Attack: Martyred Policeman laid to rest

PESHAWAR (APP): Two terrorists were killed and a policeman martyred in an exchange of fire with security forces in District Swabi on late Saturday night.

According to a police official, terrorists attacked a police vehicle in Minai area of Swabi and managed to flee. Police rounded them in shop and hurled hand grenade on terrorists due to which both terrorists were killed, said District Police Officer confirmed.

During exchange of firing, one policeman Shah Fahad was martyred and another injured who was identified as constable Munir. The injured police personnel was taken to Swabi District Hospital for medical treatment.

The DPO said that exchange of firing lasted for three hours. He said police also freed four people, including a minor, believed to be taken hostage by the terrorists. A Kalashnikov, two hand grenades and ammunition were also seized in the operation.

Meanwhile, Shaheed constable Shah Fahad was laid to rest with full honor on Sunday at his ancestral graveyard Kalo Khan village, District Swabi. SP Investigation Azhar Khan, DSP Swabi Azhar Shah Khan, relatives of the Shaheed constable Shah Fahad and people from different walk of life attended his funeral.

A smart contingent of police presented the guard of honor to Shaheed Shah Fahad, who was martyred during an ambush. Shah Fahad was embraced shahadat on the spot while constable Munir received bullet injuries. It is worth mentioning here that in a retaliating attack by police party two militants were gun-down.
