SC suspends Bowl Policy in recruitment of Class-IV employees; KP Govt notifies

PESHAWAR:The Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tuesday issued a circular to all the Administrative Secretaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saying that the Supreme Court of Pakistan, in its judgment on February 19 had suspended the operation of impugned judgment of Peshawar High Court regarding introduction of Bowl Policy in recruitment of Class-IV employees.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government through a circular issued on Tuesday has asked all the administrative secretaries in the province to circulate the copy of Supreme Court order to all the heads of attached departments/subordinate offices for compliance.
It said the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its order stated that the Government had its own rules and policies for the purpose of recruitment/ employment of Class-IV employees and thus any policy laid down by the learned High Court in its judgment or even through its rules could not be attracted and made basis for allowing the relief to the respondents.
It is worth mentioning that the Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa impugned the judgment of Peshawar High Court dated December 7, 2017 regarding introduction of Bowl Policy in recruitment of Class-IV employees in Supreme Court of Pakistan through the Civil Petition No.179/2018 titled as Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through Secretary Health and other V/S Zahid Khan and others.
