Govt. committed to provide best health facilities, Senate told

ISLAMABAD:Minister of State for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Darshan has said PML-N government has increased the budget for health sector from 42 billion to 225 billion rupees and is committed to provide best health facilities to the people.

He was responding to a call attention notice moved by Mohsin Aziz towards the recent report of UNICEF according to which Pakistan has highest new born mortality rate in the world which is even worse than countries like Somalia, Chad and South Sudan.

The Minister of State said that maternal mortality rate has reduced from 294 to 176 on one hundred thousand births.

The Senate today passed, The National Skills University Islamabad Bill, 2017.

The bill moved by Minister of State for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Darshan provides to upgrade the status of National Institute of Science and Technical Education, Islamabad into National Skills University.APP/AFP
