3G-4G internet service in AJK status update

MIRPUR (AJK): (APP) Azad Jammu & Kashmir including all three districts of Mirpur division will be provided with high speed Internet technology - 3G and 4G.
This was said by the Commanding Officer (CO) Special Communication Organization (SCO) Mirpur division, Lt. Colonel Syed Ayad Hssan while talking to journalists here on Monday.
"In view of importance of the need of fast means of telecommunications all over the world, the next generation of fast-paced domain of information technology, 5G is also likely to be launched in the coming days", he said while briefing of the progress by SCO about the much-awaited arrival of the swift internet service of 3G and 4G in AJK including Mirpur, the city of over a million UK-based expatriates.
Ayad said his organization was determined to provide its customers with all latest means of telecommunications harmonious to the need of the modern age.
The CO said after SCO completed the basic assignment of designing 3G and 4G project, it was sent for final approval by the government.
He said the existing four towers would be increased to 10 towers in Mirpur division for providing 3G and 4G internet service to the consumers.
He said that only 1800 new DSL Internet Connections were granted to the aspirant in Mirpur city during recent past.
Rest of the pending applications of the DSL internet service would be entertained on seniority basis side by side with the expansion of the local network, he added.
Ayad also declared to improve the call center service of the SCO especially for the landline for ensuring the delivery of the swift information to the telephone users just on first dialing.
Senior SCO officials including Major Muhammad Mufeed, Media Advisor Ch. Jehangir Shehzad, and others were also present on the occasion.
