IG Sindh informs Supreme Court  a 69% decrease in Target Killing and extortion after Karachi operation
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court expressed its anger over the report of the Sindh IG regarding Karachi unrest case and said that the report is nothing but a bundle of lie.

 

As per details, a five member bench of SC led by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the Karachi unrest case here at Monday. Sindh IG presented a performance report of Sindh police during the hearing.

 

The report stated that extortion case have decreased by 60% while incidents of target killing have reduced by 69%. The report further added that bank robberies have been decreased by 58% while ransom case also have decreased by 100%.

 

The larger bench of SC expressed his dissatisfaction over the report and said in its remarks that if everything was good in Karachi then why government decided to launch operation in Karachi.

 

Justice Ameer Hani said in his remarks that Police is involved in acts while private men are hired by police for acts. Two thousand target killers are roaming in the city and you are informing SC that peace has restored in Karachi. Justice Ameer Hani stated.

 

Chief Justice asked Sindh IG that how many accused of target killing had been arrested by police in 2015 and how many challans had been presented in courts?

 

IG Ghulam Haider tried to defend Sindh Police and said that Police is trying to improve its performance in province.
