Panama Case JIT is heading in right direction: SC

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday remarked that the investigation of the Panama Papers case against Sharif family is heading in the right direction.

A three member bench of the top court heard the Panama Papers case on Wednesday.

In the hearing, the joint investigation team – probing the offshore wealth of Sharif family – submitted their second report of the case.

Justice Ejaz Afzal, while addressing the JIT, said that probe team had highlighted the problems that were being faced by the investigation team. He added that the second report also does the same.

The judge ordered the JIT to file another petition regarding the problems in the investigation.

He also said that there will be no compromise on time frame. “No even a single day will be granted after a time period of two months,” the judge said.

“The investigation should be completed within the time frame,” he said.
