Civil-Military joint resolve to eradicate terrorism

RAWALPINDI: While vowing to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said that Anti-Pakistan elements would not be allowed to create destabilization in Pakistan and every possible measures would be taken to uphold the achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azab.

According to ISPR, a high level security meeting was held here at today under the chairmanship of Army Chief in GHQ, Rawalpindi to review the internal and external security situation of the country.

Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Sartaj Aziz, Aizaz Ch. Tariq Fatemi, DG ISI and other military officials attended the meeting. Matters related to Pak-Afghan ties, regional security situation and recent US drone attack in Baluchistan were discussed in the meeting.

The participants of the meeting expressed their satisfaction over the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azab and said that every possible efforts would be made by government to maintain the achievements of operation.

ISPR further added that conspiracies are being hatched against Pakistan. Stability and development of Pakistan also came under discussion during the meeting while participants of the meeting vowed that Anti-Pakistan spy agencies and their facilitators would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.

Talking about the drone attacks, the participants pointed out that it is against Pakistan integrity and sovereignty while Afghan peace process has also been affected by drone strikes so drone attacks must be stopped.

Participants of the meeting also vowed to ensure the protection of national interest at any cost.
