China imposes certain conditions on fasting in Xinkiang

BEIJING: Chinese government restricted Muslims from fasting during Ramadan in Xinjiang mainly Muslim region.

 

As per report, Chinese government banned government employees, students and minors from fasting in Xinjiang.

 

“Party members, cadres, civil servants, students and minors must not fast for Ramadan and must not take part in religious activities,” said a notice posted on the official website of the city.

 

“During the Ramadan month, food and drink businesses must not close,” it added.

 

Local governments claimed to ensure the enforcement of orderly manner during Ramadan.
