LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) was informed that seven-year-old Zainab's murderer had been formally nominated in the rape and murder cases of seven other children in Kasur.

The investigation officer concerned submitted that the accused Imran not only raped and killed Zainab but also committed the same heinous crime with other seven minor children earlier. He submitted that suspect's DNA also matched with the samples recovered from the crime scenes in the said seven cases. He pleaded with the court to grant five days physical remand of the accused for investigation of the cases. At this, ATC-I Judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad remanded the accused Imran in the police custody for three days. The court ordered for producing him again on the expiry of the remand term.

It is pertinent to mention that the accused Imran was produced before the court amid strict security arrangements in
a special vehicle.
