Qatari Royal family Prince arrives in Tharparkar

MITHI: Sheikh Fahad Abdulrahman H.A. Al-Thani, a member of the Qatar royal family, arrived in Tharparkar along with an unspecified number of Qatari and local friends riding several luxurious vehicles late on Sunday evening.
The royal guest and his entourage were escorted by a convoy of police and Rangers personnel to one of the heavily-guarded makeshift camps set up in a remote area of Diplo taluka. An official statement issued on Feb 1 said that the guest would stay in the area from Feb 5 to 28.
No details of the purpose of the visit or the guest’s engagements during his stay in Tharparkar were made public. However, the general impression in the district is that the visit is similar to those usually made by other Gulf royals during the current hunting season.
