NAB arrests Ex-Vice Chancellor, Registrar

ISLAMABAD: (APP) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested accused Ex-Vice Chancellor, Dr Zafar Iqbal, Ex- Registrar Dr Fahim-ud-Din and Director Naeem Amjad of the Federal Urdu University of Arts and Technology on the allegations of cheating public at large, misuse of authority and obtaining pecuniary advantages through corrupt and dishonest means.
The accused Ex-Vice Chancellor of FUUAST Karachi, Dr Zafar Iqbal and Ex-Registrar Dr Fahim-ud-Din obtained illegal gratifications of Rs 20 million time to time by Managing Director Sub-Campus at Lahore, Naeem Amjad through their front man for opening of an illegal Sub-Campus at Suggian Lahore.
However, the Sub-Campus being illegal ab-initio stopped its operations after some time and did not pay back the fees to the students, said a press release issued here on Monday.
A large number of students of the said Sub-Campus approached NAB Lahore and filed claims of Rupees 1,70,000 approx.
Due to this reason, the accused Ex-Vice Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University of Arts and Technology on the allegations of Cheating Public at Large, misuse of authority and obtaining pecuniary advantages through corrupt practices.
