Murderers in Assemblies killed Sindh Police brave officers: IG Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh IG AD Khawaja has questioned the presence of Rangers in Karachi, saying for how long will Karachi rely on Rangers ‘crutches’.

Addressing the traders at Karachi Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, AD Khawaja said, “It is true that there was much turmoil in 1980 and 1990 and the police alone completed the operation successfully.

Those police officers were pointed out and killed while the murderers stayed in the assemblies. The society also remained quiet. These were the reasons due to which the city had to use the crutches of Rangers.”

He said that the police ensured peace in interior Sindh without the help of Rangers. There are many factors after which Karachi police would no longer need the ‘crutches’ of Rangers, he added.

“The police do not keep its debt; we know how to return it. Many of those sitting in the assemblies have been in prisons and many took advantage of the NRO,” he further said.
