Water commission case: CJP asks Sindh CM to assure completion of work

KARACHI: Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, while hearing the Water Commission at SC Registry on Wednesday, observed that the court is ready to support the government if Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah assures of completing the work.

“If you say, we can go, drink and check the quality of water from any area,” he remarked.

The CJP observed that designations are not given to enjoy, but to serve. “Whether you take it seriously or in a light mood, it has been decided that you have to resolve the water issue and immediately as well.”

The CJP also expressed the wish that Bilawal Bhutto should also witness the situation.

The Sindh CM said that the issues cannot be resolved in six months. “I am already concerned about the water issue.”

The court also ordered the Sindh CM to launch a probe into the Mahmoodabad treatment plant.
