Return of TDPs to resume from April 10

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Repatriation process of the Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) of South Waziristan Agency (SWA) will be resuming from April 10.

Authorities decided to complete the repatriation of TDPs of South Waziristan to their native areas as the displaced families will return to 33 villages of Makeen and Ladha tehsils of South Waziristan from Khairgai camp, reported a private news channel.

The repatriation process will continue until April 30. Whereas, the repatriation process of TDPs that was started on March 4, will conclude today.

Assistant Political Agent Shoaib Khan said every possible facility would be provided to the returning families in their native areas.

A special registration center has been set up at Khairgai check-post in FR Tank to facilitate the TDPs.

Thirty-five thousand rupees cash and six-month ration will be provided to the each returning family.

The repatriation process of South Waziristan displaced families was launched in 2010 and so far, 120,000 displaced families had returned to their native areas in the agency.
