Mirwaiz condemns puppet regime’s indifferent attitude towards IOK people

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has deplored the indifferent attitude of the puppet regime towards the people suffering due to incessant rains and ensuing flood-like situation in Indian occupied territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to remain under house arrest, in a statement in Srinagar said many places across the Kashmir Valley were inundated due to water logging and drainage overflow creating panic among the people whose memory of 2014 floods was very fresh in their minds.

"The severe problems and inconvenience caused to the people due to water logging and inundation has added to the woes of the people who are already put to great inconvenience at the hands of the authorities focused on conducting sham elections to mislead people in India and the world rather than providing relief to them," he said.

Mirwaiz said it was condemnable that educational institutions had been converted into garrisons for conduct of the election drama.

He appealed to the people to be calm but prepared in these testing times and make special supplications to Almighty Allah for improvement in the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the forum spokesman in a statement condemned the police raid on the office of the amalgam at Rajbagh in Srinagar and harassment of the staff there.

He described the raid as the frustration and Ghunda Raj of the police.

He said the police were arresting and spreading fear among the people rather than helping them in this time of crisis caused by the inclement weather.
