Why Mohammad Hafeez changed his press conference at the last moment?

ISLAMABAD - The veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was set to hold a press conference on Wednesday and make a big announcement regarding his future, however, PCB took him in confidence, stopping him from making an emotional decision.

According to sources, Hafeez was ready to call it a day and retire since he thought he was no longer a part of Pakistan’s 2019 World Cup plans.

Inzamam-ul-Haq made it quite clear that even those players who haven’t made it to the squad are still in contention for the all-important World Cup 2019. He said that we are trying other combinations for now and Hafeez, especially after being allowed to bowl, is an important part of Pakistan cricket team.

Hafeez is a part of the 20-22 players that we are considering for the World Cup. Hafeez is a good player and now he can bowl as well.

Hafeez also brushed aside the claims of not getting along well with the board, saying that he accepts the decision with all his heart and would love to play for his country.

There are still a number of series before the World Cup and Hafeez still has a role to play, Inzamam said while talking to the media.
