PTI opens doors of Governor House for general public

*KARACHI - Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Wednesday announced to open the gates Governor House in Karachi to the public from September 7.*

The governor while speaking to the media said that the building of Governor House was a historic building and has several rare artifacts.

He said that the public would be able allowed to walk from Gate 1 in the spacious garden free of cost after presenting their National Identity Cards.

Furthermore, the building will also be open to guided tours for school children, while plans are being made for pre-booked tours on weekends.

He said that after taking charge of his position he has been using only two rooms of the official residence and only one government vehicle unlike the protocol of previous governors.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said it would take austerity measures to curb excessive expenditures which includes not living in luxurious official residences.
