Pak-Japan relations can be fostered through enhanced interaction of Parliamentarians: Speaker NA

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser Wednesday said relations between Pakistan and Japan can be further strengthened through enhanced interaction of Parliamentarians as well as people of both the countries.

He expressed these views while talking to a six-member Japanese Parliamentary delegation led by Seishiro Eto, Chairman of Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League House (JPPFL), who called on him here at Parliament House. Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kuria was also present on the occasion.

The Speaker said that both the countries are working for the prosperity of the people of the region through joint economic and development efforts.
He underlined the need for regular interaction between the Parliamentarians and business community of both the countries to further strengthen the existing relations.


Asad Qaiser urged the need for regular exchanges of Parliamentary delegations for facilitating all-encompassing robust bilateral relations.
He said that Pak-Japanese Friendship group already exists in National Assembly and would be activated in coming days.
“Japanese are honest and hardworking person that’s why the people of Pakistan love Japan and its nation. We have special place in our heart for Japan,” the Speaker remarked.

While discussing technical assistance to Pakistan from Japan, the Speaker showed his keen interest for support and collaboration of Pakistani universities and technical education centers with Japanese universities.
Asad Qaiser acknowledged the importance of Japan as a development partner and the cordial relation between the two countries, which is free of any irritant.

He also looked forward to the greater level of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the area of trade, investment, infrastructure and human resource development.
Chairman of Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League House (JPPFL) Seishiro Eto thanked the Speaker for his kind remarks and said that his country also considers Pakistan as one of its friends and economic partner.

The foreign dignitary congratulated Asad Qaiser on his election as the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Assuring Japan’s commitment towards prosperous Pakistan, Seishiro Eto said that Japan will continue to partner with Pakistan in uplifting Pakistan’s education, Information Technology and energy sectors.
