Journalists under severe attacks and threats in India: Amnesty International

NEW DELHI - World human rights watchdog, Amnesty International in Indian Occupied Kashmir has said that many journalists in India are facing death threats, attacks and false charges just for doing their job.

The Amnesty International said this on the eve of first anniversary of journalist, Gauri Lankesh, who was murdered last year.

Executive Director of Amnesty International in India Aakar Patel said in a statement that Gauri Lankesh’s death anniversary is an occasion to expose the truth, that journalists are under attack in India .

The Amnesty International quoted a Reporters Without Borders report which said that at least four journalists had been killed in India till June this year, and three others attacked physically and several other journalists have received threats who are critical of the state.
