Major crackdown launched in occupied Kashmir ahead of sham polls

In occupied Kashmir, authorities have launched a massive crackdown in South Kashmir ahead of the so-called Municipal and Panchayat elections, arresting dozens of people in Pulwama district.

The personnel of Indian police and its Special Operations Group raided several villages of the district including Kalampora, Qasba Yar, Drubgam, Bellow, Murran, Rohmoo and Nowpora over the past couple of days and detained scores of people.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at them in Srinagar city, today.

Unknown gunmen also fired upon three persons in Habbakadal area of the city, injuring them critically.
